macOS Mission Control should show everything
macOS has had this neat feature ever since Panther: Exposé. At some point since its introduction by Steve Jobs at the WWDC 2003, Apple renamed it to Mission Control, probably to differentiate it from App Exposé, but what it does is incredibly useful to this day. Mission Control shows you all open windows on your Mac, to help you find the one you’re looking for:
Most alert-windows don’t show up when you launch Mission Control, probably to clean up the grid of windows a bit, i think this makes life more difficult. On the generally bigger screens today, it does not serve any apparent purpose. I would prefer having everything in Mission Control, including alerts. Often I end up pressing cmd+h repeatedly to hide windows until the alert I can’t otherwise find is the only thing left on screen.
And to illustrate what happens to the alert window, here is the same situation with only one window:
I think Apple should allow alerts to show up in Mission Control, to make it easier to find them.
